Maybe Rain Today

It's amazing! They keep saying it's going to rain here and then it fails to appear! However, I just now looked at the SCDOT web cams for Myrtle Beach and saw that it's raining in Aynor, so I believe it's headed this way. Hurray!

Last weekend was the 4th of July holiday weekend, but my Jay was sick and therefore we spent a lot of time in the Emergency Rooms and even an overnight stay. Seems to be it may be hiatal hernia, but praise God it's not his heart! Our vacation is coming up so hopefully he will be doing better by then and will be able to enjoy vacation. We plan on going to a ballgame with our church (the Myrtle Beach Pelicans) and then spending some time in upstate South Carolina with our son and his wife and doing some antiquing during the day
while they are working and enjoying them in the evening and weekend. We always have so much fun - no matter whether we playing cards, ladder ball or lazer tag. Even just sitting and talking...lots of fun!

I'm typing this at work, so I have no card pictures to share with you. Although we did a very cute turtle card using an accordion shell at Inky Digits last night. It's so cute! I'll have to post it for you in the coming days.

I've Decorated

Well, I've done a little bit of decorating for the 4th of July...I put out my bunting on the flower boxes that Jay made for me. However, one side is dry rot, so I'll have to replace it, but I think it can make it through the weekend. I'll post a pic for you. In fact, I'll post a few pics of the front porch that I just took this evening.

Also, I took a couple more pics of downtown Myrtle Beach this morning to share with you - two of which are the Ocean Blvd. area and another taken near the big empty area that used to be Myrtle Square Mall, looking west.

I am looking forward to this weekend and have a couple more cards to make. I especially enjoy making the accordion cards which we learned at the beginning of June. They look SO complicated, but actually are quite easy.

You'll especially like the signs beside our front door!

And now for the pics of downtown Myrtle Beach near the ocean...

...and then the accordion cards...

I'll try to get on a schedule of posting. We'll see what develops from this escapade!
Enjoy!

Picture Near the Beach

Well, I am so far behind in posting due to a few health problems the past few weeks, but am back on track again.

I promised pictures from Myrtle Beach, so I took this one yesterday on my way in to work.  I redirected my usual path to work and meandered on down to The Boulevard and took this pic near the Sky Wheel just up from Peaches Corner.  I didn't realize how cloudy it was until I downloaded the pic to my computer last night. The weather is quite humid and VERY hot, near the triple digits. It has been somewhat smoky here from the fire in North Carolina in Dade County. Every time the wind shifts we get the smoke here in town. I can't imagine what it is like near the fires, especially in this heat.

Well, I've added the pictures twice. For some reason they're not showing up, so I'll need to work on this later to figure out why you cannot see my pics.

Back Again!

I can't believe it's been four months since I posted.  I was thinking last night, and was encouraged today by a friend to blog, so I had an idea to take some pics in the Myrtle Beach area where I live and post them to my blog. It won't be the usual pic you would expect to see, but something different and maybe even advertise some of the places I hang out.  So I need to get busy today and take some pics. My computer is in the shop, so as soon as I get it back I can upload the pics to share. What an adventure this will be....until later! Tallyho!

What a Weekend!

Well, this weekend has been interesting. It's been fun! We ate at LaHacienda Friday now...wonderful Mexican Food. As a matter of fact, it's actually my most favorite Mexican restaurant in the area. And of course I couldn't eat everything on my plate, so I brought half of it home and had it for lunch today. Yum! We window shopped yesterday....looking for a new computer.  We will probably get a Dell, but haven't decided which one yet.  Last night we watched The Destiny Stone on Netflix. Excellent movie! And it's based on a true story too. I highly recommend it.

Today after church Mom & Dad came over to play cards. I won all four games. That's NEVER happened before! *<:o) Then we had hamburgers, baked beans and Steakhouse Potato Salad with dessert of gingerbread with whipped cream, a scoop of ice cream and a chocolate filled Pourilene. Then we watched Frozen on Netflix about 3 skiers accidentally left on the ski lift for several days. Very scary! It makes you wonder if that sort of thing could really happen.  Anyway, it was a GOOD weekend. And tomorrow is the beginning of a new week...the last week of February. Wonderful!
